NEDE Productions
New England Dance Ensemble is the resident dance company founded by Barbara Mullen, Director of LDA. Company Auditions are held in September. Auditions are open to ALL performers in the New England area ages 5+. NEDE has three productions each season; The Nutcracker, A Child’s View of the Holocaust, and Story Dance Touring Company. RAD Exams
The vocational examination of the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus develops the study of classical ballet. This examination syllabus has been designed to provide highly focused and relevant training for students wishing to study seriously with a view to pursuing a performing or teaching career in dance or dance related subjects. The RAD has an international board of examiners resident throughout the world. Students Intermediate Foundation and above are invited to participate annually.
American Academy of Ballet Performance Awards
The Performance Awards are a series of distinctive choreographic compositions over 12 levels. Students Grade 1 and above participate and perform in front of an audience of parents and friends. A judge from another city will attend the performance, evaluate the dancers, and award bronze silver or gold medals and certificates to each student. Performance Awards are held annually in February.
End-of-Year Performance
This is not your typical recital! In 5 weeks of preparation the students at LDA and our incredible volunteers create an amazing production that equals a Broadway Show. Every student in the school participates in the dance form(s) they have been studying to make this performance exciting choreographically and musically. You have to see it to believe it! Annual production announced on Valentine’s Day.
