Class Requirements

Class placement is at the discretion of the instructor. Ages listed next to the levels are to be used as a gentle guide line for class consideration.  New students on the cusp of an age group may be asked to participate in both classes for the first week in order to assess the correct level of placement for optimum learning and growth.  All Ballet students Grade II and above are required to attend two ballet classes per week.  Students Grade III and above are eligible to be considered to attend Pointe Class. It is highly recommended that all students studying Jazz or Contemporary also study Ballet as it is the basis of all dance forms.  Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, and Advanced I & II level students are advised to attend a minimum of three Ballet, one Pointe Class, Body Conditioning and one Elective each week to increase strength, stamina and maintain the proficiency that is required at this level.

Absence/Cancellation: Missed classes due to illness are to be made up promptly.  We ask that students do not attend class for 24 hours after a fever, vomiting or beginning antibiotics.  Students are to attend makeup classes within a month of the missed class in a comparable level in any dance form. Students are allowed 4 makeups throughout the year for all dance classes. Private Lessons including Voice, require a minimum of 24 hour notice for absences.  Private Lesson students are allows 3 makeups per year.  Classes missed due to weather related school closings will receive an email with a suggested makeup class. Tuition reimbursement for missed classes is not offered.  If at anytime a parent or guardian desires to cancel his/her child’s program completely, a letter is required.  Full tuition for the month the student stops attending classes, as well as the month following, are due at the time of withdrawal.  LDA follows the Londonderry School District for weather related closings.  When Londonderry Schools are closed due to snow/bad weather LDA is also closed.  When Londonderry schools have a delayed opening, morning classes will be cancelled. .

Bad Weather

In the event that Londonderry School District cancels school because of snow or ice, our classes will also be cancelled.  In the event of a delayed opening, morning classes will be cancelled and all afternoon classes will remain as scheduled.  Check WMUR, or listen to WZID 95.7  FM radio or WGIR 610 AM for cancellations.  You may also check the updates section of our home page to verify cancellations incase of afternoon inclement weather.

LDA is closely following the recommendation set forth by both the NH State Department of Health and the CDC. We take our responsibility seriously to create a safe and healthy environment for our families. Barre's and studios are sanitized between each class, and the building common areas are deep cleaned daily. We require all students and teachers to wear masks and sanitize their hands upon entry. We ensure social distancing and proper ventilation in all studios. We ask that you please assess your child for symptoms prior to all classes. Please do not send your child to class with any symptoms including a mild cough or runny nose. In the event that anyone in your family has any cold or flu like symptoms we ask that you do not send your child to class until they have been evaluated by a doctor. If your child or a family member has had indirect exposure to Covid-19 we ask that you notify us prior to sending your child to class. Please notify us and do not send your child if any family member has had direct exposure to Covid-19 or is awaiting test results. We ask that you continue to follow quarantining, isolating and all additional protocols set forth by the CDC regarding infection and exposure to Covid-19. Out of an abundance of caution, we are happy to offer Zoom classes for anyone who prefers to take class in the safety of their own home.
